When It rains it pours
This week in visual we've been told to create over a 100 Ink washed pieces and unlike my first semester i want to really feel locked onto my work, We've been given a really nice brief here and i'm in love with the freedom we've been aloud for once, What I've learned over the last few years is that i thrive on freedom, Give me some room and i'll bust a move! (Woo) It wasn't asked of us, But this is going to be a design document for two weeks.
We've been asked to create numerous scenes of Leicester (Exact list is somewhere)
The clock tower is like the pole in the arctic that marks magnetic north.. it harbors seasonal events and celebrations slung around it's arches and points. Just 100 yards from the first photo i feel so much more comfort here than there.. I dunno it's wierd, i like this thing..
The streets even during non peak times makes it hard to ride in, The sense and smells of the streets gives me the feeling that maybe i should clutch my belongings, I feel overly aware of my surroundings during the day here, Which temps me question how i would feel being here at night. The motion of the people is something i'd like to capture.
Being in the modern developed parts of the city gives a contrast between the richer new streets and the traditional marketplace on minutes down the road, It's strange to see the traffic difference, I could hit full speed round these parts with no effort but found myself being careful and mindful of small children round the clocktower, There just a massive demographic drop between this place and the clock, although at night i'm assuming it comes into it's own, Seeming as the place is packed with 'Modern' chains of eating establishments
I hate these things, I literally nearly took several to the face when riding, Non the less they'll be featured in my pieces, The pigeons i'm sad to say make Leicester feel like a CITY.
Leicester is certainly not lacking random sculptures i don't read, This is not one of them :)
I see this thing every other day and i'm glad that i'm finally photographing it.. I don't think that this is really a caption of leicester, It won't be featured.

The endless cleansing of those who litter is obvious for all, It would be pretty clever if i used this as one of my vehicle submissions, pretty clever indeed. we'll see, I'm feeling positive for the idea but it's not decided so we'll see.. I certainly didn't enjoy them coming cutting me up and using my bike lanes But 'This is an accurate depiction of Leicester, So accurate it's real in fact!
'
Moving away from the noise and swamp of people, We move onto the outskirts of Leicester, Lines and lines of houses, All with the same features 'Bay windows' wouldn't be a selling point i'm assuming, These flat, and mostly angles planes can provide some really great outcomes for a piece
